The Kadeshi and The G0dfathers End in a Draw After Exciting Finish
Reported by: Xenlogi MetisThe first match of the Group Stages saw an exciting fight between The Kadeshi[THOR] and The G0dfathers[DADDY] with a surprising draw at the end.
Both teams fielded the maximum allowed 10 ships and used all of the 100 points allowed. THOR centered their ships around a Machariel and two Cyclones as damage dealers, two Rooks for ECM, the remaining ships doing logistics and tackling. DADDY had two Machariels and five bombers, plus logistic and tackling ships.
THOR warped their main force to the center, the support ships staged at distance, DADDY warped their main group to medium range with the logistic and Sabre to the distance.
The match was on and THOR at once attacked DADDY's Rapier which was quickly disposed of as it posed a serious threat to the THOR team with its webbing abilities. At the same time, DADDY focused their fire on THOR's Rooks, removing them from the field. THOR focused their efforts to bring down DADDY's bombers, being a source of high damage. Despite remote repair efforts from DADDY's Guardian the bombers went down one after the other.
DADDY was able to kill THOR's Sabres and Scimitar despite most of their bombers already gone. However, they lost their Guardian soon after but traded it with THOR's Huginn shortly thereafter.
At this point it was THOR's one Machariel and two Cyclones against DADDY's two Machariels. In an exciting dogfight, one of the Cyclones died in exchange for one of DADDY's Machariels. However, the other Cyclone was already damaged and was shot down 20 seconds before the match ended, leaving both teams with one Machariel on the field, resulting in a draw which gave each team 79 points.
EviL Az from DADDY was satisfied with the match; "It was a very exciting match and well played from both sides.." and praised their FC and team mates "A great job of calling named targets. ZharradanDK, one of our rook pilots as well as MabloKo, were on the top of the game!"
meppa from DADDY agreed that it was a satisfying result "We are happy with our match" but adds "we didnt win so there is much to improve". Naoko Aoki continued "It was my first alliance tournament match and I have to say it's the most exciting oppertunity and honor to fly with my mates."
