The first match of the FInals pitted The Kadeshi [THOR] against Perihelion Alliance [SENEX] with SENEX winning after a short struggle.

THOR brought a Minmatar based 'rush' team, which meant high speed to get close up and then delivering high amounts of damage. For that they had two Machariels, two Huginns to pin down hostiles which themselves try to 'rush', a Scimitar as logistics, three Kereses for sensor dampening and scrambling, and a Thrasher plus a Sabre.

SENEX brought a Caldari 'kite' team, which is designed to stay at far distance, scampering around the arena to avoid close quarter combat and picking off targets at long distance. Three Tengus and a Drake were the main force in this setup, together with a Scimitar as logistic, a Huginn for webbing, two Keres for sensor dampening which works especially well with a 'kite' team and Cormorant plus Thrasher.

THOR warped their Machariels and Huginns to the center of the arena, the Scimitar with the Kereses at the far distance and the remaining ships in between. SENEX decided to warp all their ships to the far opposite distance.

The match began and THOR fiercely rushed towards SENEX, with the SENEX team at once scattering away into all directions but even doing so SENEX was able to kill THOR's Kereses.

IceGuerilla from SENEX in his Scimitar made the mistake of flying out of the arena and was destroyed as the penalty, leaving SENEX without any logistics ship while THOR still had their Scimitar on the field. However, that Scimitar was dampened down by SENEX' Kereses and pretty much shut down.

While now THOR was able to kill SENEX' Thrasher, Huginn and a Keres, they lost a Thrasher and Sabre in return. In the meantime SENEX focused their fire onto THOR's Scimitar which couldn't survive such an onslaught for long. After this, the match was pretty heavily in favour for SENEX which soon afterwards destroyed both of THOR's Huginns.

Now only two Machariels were on the field for THOR facing SENEX' three Tengus, a Drake, Keres and a Cormorant. THOR was able to kill another of SENEX' Tengus before they lost both their Machriels.

THOR was out of the tournament with this loss and SENEX proceeds to the next round, but both teams were excited with the tournament.

Mirko Stinkz from THOR said 'I love all my guys and everyone put heart and effort into this years tournament' and is still satisfied despite the loss 'Everything after the group stage is a bonus, and we made it to finals day :)' and continued 'A shoutout to all Kadeshi pilots who helped out with training and all.'

IceGuerilla from SENEX described their excitement of having won with being 'ecstatic'. He also jokingly commented about his Scimitar loss due to flying out of the arena with 'I am terrible at piloting ships 'but seems to stay in good tradition as he continued saying 'I lose a logistics in every match.'
