In a match that fielded no electronic counter-measures and only one logistic ship per side, ATLAS Alliance [ATLAS] and Brick sQuAD. [BR1CK] stood toe-to-toe and slugged it out in this last match of the day. Unfortunately for ATLAS, the BR1CK fleet proved superior in this match.
It took a full two minutes for the first ship to be lost, a BR1CK Succubus, followed right after by an ATLAS Curse. Shorty after this, a second Succubus fell for BR1CK.
What followed next may well have been the downfall of the ATLAS team; the Guardian piloted by Elisa Rundal was taken out, leaving the heavy damage ships without any logistic support to help keep them alive. In several matches today, logistic ships have been allowed to remain alive until late in the match. It appears to have been a good move by BR1CK to remove this ship early as it allowed them to slowly pick off the rest of the ATLAS fleet.
The results were not immediately clear, however. An Absolution and Crusader were the next two ships to fall, both BR1CK casualties; ATLAS appeared to be pulling back and even taking the upper hand.
The match remained in question with each side trading losses until the sides stood at Eos, Stiletto, Myrmidon for ATLAS and a pair of Armageddons and a Heretic for BR1CK. At that point, it was only a matter of time for the twin battleships to kill all but the Stiletto, piloted by Mugmoneos X. The match ended with time as small, fast ship could not be caught.
An exciting match by most standards, BR1CK outguned ATLAS and they move on to the next round, fighting RED.Overload tomorrow at 17:20.
