THE RONIN [47R] alliance slaughtered the Against ALL Authorities [.-A-.] team, losing only three battlecruisers against a team worth double the amount of ISK.
Both teams chose to field tech III cruisers in this match, and positioned themselves at long distance to each other. The frigate-sized vessels of 47R were positioned slightly away from the rest of their team, while all of the .-A-. ships began the game in close proximity of their team.
All ships started approaching each other with the exception of the .-A-. Paladins which were moving away from their opponents. 47R rapidly whipped out the first Paladin, one of the Harbingers and an Ishkur, while only losing a Brutix themselves.
The vessels started to spread around the arena now and damage was being exchanged rapidly. The second (47R) Brutix got ripped apart by the .-A-. team, even though he was receiving armour repairs from a logistics cruiser. One of his team mates flying a Myrmidon got annihilated a little later, after which .-A-. lost their last Paladin and their second Harbinger.
Only the Proteus was capable of dealing significant damage within .-A-.’s team now, but 47R chose to destroy their opponents Guardian first. They then killed an Iteron Mark V and finally won the match by annihilating the remaining Proteus.
According to Palolko Dwimer of 47R, “The most important thing in this match was probably target calling. They had quite a similar set-up to ours, and when you are facing same set-up as yours, it [comes] down to individual piloting skills.”
Paik of .-A-. explained that they… “ had assumed that RUR would bring a close range set-up, but [we] did not count on as many damps and tracking disruptors as they had. [We were] unable to apply our DPS effectively [and] should have taken out their small stuff first to mitigate the electronic warfare.”
