Veni Vidi Vici Defeated by SOLAR FLEET

In the second elimination match of the semi-finals, Veni Vidi Vici (V3) was soundly defeated by SOLAR FLEET (SOLAR), through excellent use of a logistic vessel.

At the beginning of the match, both fleets warped at zero to the arena beacon, with the exception of one Oneiros from Veni Vidi Vici that was kept at adistance.

Despite the two fleets sporting quite similar set-ups, as soon as the battle began, Veni Vidi Vici concentrated fire on SOLAR's logistic vessel and immediately started losing ships.

Griseus of SOLAR explained that the Guardian they fielded was not a bait ship: "He had just [a] good tank without losing [his] support role but still was killed, giving us enough time to destroy two hurricanes." Griseus also said that killing that logistic vessel was their opponent's sole choice to win the match.

Martyn Brierfield of V3, confirmed that SOLAR's guardian was the pivotal vessel in the match: "When we saw what we were up against, we knew the odds were againsts us," said Martyn Brierfield of Veni Vidi Vici.

Martyn Brierfield also added that the match was lost by the better fleet set-up sported by their opponents and not by pilot error on V3's part. "We didn't have any pilot error, so it came down to our opponents fielding a fleet a little better suited to take us out."

When they finally managed to kill SOLAR's Guardian, V3 had already lost two Hurricanes and several other ships and their chances of winning the match were severely compromised.

It took several minutes for SOLAR to bring down the remaining V3 Abbadon vessels and, interestingly, when only one enemy vessel had remained on the field, SOLAR FLEET took a bit of time before finishing it, allegedly to loot some wrecks. "[We got] just some random trash fittings, there was not even faction ammunition," said Griseus.

Finally, Martyn Brierfield summarized his alliance's participation in the tournament using these words: "We are very much looking forward to next year's fight, and expect to see V3 going further. Good luck to the remaining teams."
