Manifest Destiny Advances In Tight Match Against Unaffiliated

Reported by: Caiden S'or

Manifest Destiny [MANY] advances in a match that saw the momentum swing back and forth several times, as Unaffiliated could not hold on to an early advantage as they struck first blood. Heavy use of drones by both sides, both logistic and damage were used to full advantage, and electronic warfare seemed to make an early exit.

A MANY Rook was destroyed literally seconds into the match as it sat unmoving, apparently waiting for logistic support, followed quickly by a Sabre and a Catalyst before they returned the favor and removed the –U— Sabre, piloted by Anvalor, from the fight.

The teams traded losses, most the smaller ships removed from play as they evened out for a time at 5 ships apiece. Of those five for MANY, three were Strategic Cruisers , two Proteus and a Tengu. For –U-, of the remaining five, two were Command ships (NightHawks), and one Strategic Cruiser (Tengu). Both sides still had a logistics ship in the match, though that would be the next ship to fall for MANY.

The momentum edged towards MANY as –U- then lost one of their Nighthawks , followed by Basilisk and then their Stiletto. What was a 5-3 ship advantage, was suddenly a 4-3 deficit as the three MANY Strategic Cruisers closed in on the remaining –U— vessels. MANY would lose their Proteus piloted by Soryn Kael near the end, but a boundary violation by –U— would cost them their Stiletto. The match ended as time expired before the MANY ships could remove the –U— Tengu from the field.

"It was our closest match yet." States Soryn kael, Captain of the Manifest Destiny team. When asked about the setup they faced, he replied, "…they brought what we expected, but our team performed a bit differently." He continues, "…we thought their Basilisk was bait tanked at the start since it was taking very little damage. But it turned out he was repping so we had to deal with him…If the mistake on the ship hadn’t been made, it could have been a better win."
